Eileen had previously bought hearing aids over the internet and found them unhelpful. She was fitted with Phonak Audeo IX in both ears by Tony Cook in Sept 2009; this is her letter of thanks transcribed for the benefit of the forum.
Dear Tony
I attended one of our manager's 'mini-conferences' yesterday and such an occasion has not been enjoyable to date. The day was long but with a packed agenda, so lots of information to absorb. I've a few pages of notes to get through and type out etc.
Not until late evening did I realize just why I enjoyed (well, almost -let's not be hasty here!) the day and found it both interesting and stimulating!
I heard almost every word -unbelievable, Tony, really.
Can't usually take many notes -too busy watching faces and lips, and ending up feeling frustrated and anxious, knowing I've missed some of the content and exhausted trying to keep up.
The room was a large communal residents' lounge, so not particularly set up for it's acoustic use yesterday. The fire alarm also went off at some stage but no worries there. Once or twice I perceived something like maybe a whistle/echo/feedback in the left in response to turning to listen to a manager's question but very brief and no-one else seemed to notice! To be honest, it just reminded me of wearing aids!
I didn't use my iPilot as not needed but it was in a pocket.
Anyway, Tony, I wanted to let you know as it's the first time these aids have been 'tested', and they're brilliant, thanks to your patience and knowledge (and tolerance).
Kind Regards,
Eileen. _________________ Text taken from client letters and transcribed for the benefit of the forum. |
